The Families of Boy Scout Troop 770 in Las Vegas, Nevada participated in their first annual family campout and outdoor Court of Honor at Zion National Park last weekend.

Last year, when Troop 770 was in it’s infancy, they tagged along with larger and more established Troop 912 on their annual family campout to Zion. This year, with 19 registered Scouts, Troop 770 hosted their own family campout in Zion National Park and had over 35 participants. In addition, they held their first ever outdoor award ceremony and honored their Scouts with more than 80 merit badges and 20 rank advancements ranging from the Tenderfoot to Star ranks.

All of the families who attended including siblings, Scouts, parents and grandparents, ventured out early Saturday morning to embark on the famous Zion Narrows hike where they were surrounded by 3,000 foot rock walls and walking up to waist deep in the Virgin River.

After The Narrows hike, the Scouts and families enjoyed a pot luck diner and Court of Honor ceremony which was followed by a traditional Scout campfire program with skits, songs and short jokes.
