The Boy Scouts of Troop 770 headed up to their local Boy Scout Camp Kimball this weekend to both enjoy the mountain air and begin a camp clean up service project.

During their weekend campout, the Scouts decided to re-live the Fortress Peak hike (a hike they did during summer camp). This time, instead of doing the hike in the early morning to see the sunrise, they set out in the late afternoon and reached the peak in time to see the Las Valley lights emerge in the distance while the sun set. For most of the Scouts, this was the first time they used their headlamps to find their way back to camp in the pitch dark.

The Scouts also began a campsite clean up service project and invested about 4 hours cleaning up trash and other debris from numerous campsites that needed help after the recent summer camp season. Troop 770 will return to Camp Kimball to do more campsite cleanup in January and hopefully get some play time in the snow.
