Boy Scouts Las Vegas from Troop 770 Go Snow Camping at Macks Canyon Campground Nevada In The Spring Mountain Wilderness

To kick off the year, the Boy Scouts of Troop 770 in Las Vegas headed for higher elevation looking to camp within the snow. Their hope was to have enough snow for a good old fashion snow ball fight and to experience what it’s like to camp in the cold. For some of the Scouts, this campout marked the first time they had ever experienced winter style camping.

Some of the highlights of the Boy Scouts Las Vegas winter campout were the amazing grilled cheese sandwiches their patrol leader made for lunch, working together to get vehicles unstuck from the icy roads, learning how to navigate by reading the bright light stars at night and earning their totin’ chip certifications.
